Housing NZ

Building new futureproof application architecture.

Circini helped Housing Corporation NZ, a government crown entity with over $15 billion in assets, shift to a new future-proof application architecture that involved the consolidation of multiple legacy housing applications and a complex deployment of 1 billion rows of data.

Challenge:
As part of its enterprise transformation program, Housing Corporation NZ was looking to transfer the majority of its legacy application suite to a new future proof application architecture based on the Oracle E-Business suite and the Northgate Social Housing application, underpinned by an Oracle SOA communication layer. Consolidating the required five legacy retail housing applications and migrating large volumes of data presented a real challenge.

Our role:
Circini was initially hired to manage the technical deployment stream for this complex deployment which included approximately 1 billion rows of data, and the consolidation of five legacy Retail Housing applications together with the migration from Finance 1 to the Oracle E-Business Suite. Thanks to a high degree of professionalism and early wins, we were asked to extend our responsibility to include project management and delivery of the retail development stream (Northgate Social Housing application).

Results:
Circini was able to give firmer shape to the Corporation’s own thinking by bringing time-proven, expert skills and methodologies to the deployment. As a result, we were able to conduct the go live two days ahead of schedule. Several dedicated dress rehearsals helped us execute the schedule 100% according to plan, with zero issue escalations to the project or executive management teams. Circini managed all post implementation escalation and triage activities to help over 1,100 staff use the new suite of applications for the first time.

“Two enterprise level solutions deployed, 1 billion rows of data migrated, one single deployment delivered 2 days ahead of schedule. Perfect!” - Mike Walczak, Director.
